Kwik Fit Insurance leads the way as best benefits communicator

The Kwik Fit Insurance ‘Employee Benefits Communications Programme’ has more impact on employee interest in their benefits than any other scheme, according to recent research. You at Work, the employee benefits specialists, measured employee interest and involvement in company-sponsored benefits across a number of key metrics and Kwik Fit Insurance came out on top overall. On average, Kwik Fit Insurance employees log on to their benefits website 6 times per month and in total, almost 2,000 times per month.

What’s even more impressive is that Kwik Fit Insurance is able to successfully communicate with the 85 percent of their employees without work email addresses, a point often seen as a big barrier to effective communications.

Charlotte Hanna, Internal Communications & Events Manager at Kwik Fit Insurance commenting on the success said, “our people are engaged with their benefits because we publicise them regularly and use a variety of channels to reinforce our messages and ensure we reach all of our people, all of the time, wherever they are.”

Kwik Fit Insurance employees are regularly reminded how good their benefits are: whether they’re at their desks, having a break, or at home. Although most employees don’t have email access at work, they do all use computers and every time an employee logs on to their computer they see the latest voluntary benefits on the Kwik Fit Insurance staff intranet. And, when they’re not getting the message from their computers, Kwik Fit Insurance people are reminded of their benefits by plasma screens, posters and other signage around the workplace. Prominent double spread articles and competitions in their staff magazine drive the message home during coffee breaks.

Charlotte Hanna added, “We always deliver the You at Work special offer flyers and lifestyle benefits magazines to employees’ desks and our ‘chill-out’ room and staff restaurant. This is where our people, who are always on the phones, go to relax so it’s a good way to get their attention.”

Kwik Fit Insurance also sends welcome packs to new joiners at home to encourage them to share their benefits with their families.

Charlotte Hanna continues, “Our three-strong internal communications and events team are committed to maximising the visibility of our You at Work benefits. The team are responsible for making sure that all internal communications channels are used effectively and that our benefits communication gets delivered with as wide a reach as possible.”

Dorian Hannington, Head of Client Implementation, You at Work commented:

“Kwik Fit Insurance are the embodiment of what our own research tells us about the importance of using mixed media to repeat and reinforce your benefits messages, and to appeal to the preferences of all the segments in your workforce. We’re delighted that we’ve been able to work with Kwik Fit Insurance to make their benefits uptake such an outstanding success.”
